Appointment of Tom Blades as President and Chief Executive Officer

Kleve, April 28, 1998. SPECTRO announced the appointment of Tom Blades as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Tom Blades, a graduate of the University of Salford and Ecole Centrale de Lyon was previously Executive Vice President und Chief Operating Officer with NUMAR Corporation and prior to that Vice President and General Manager with Schlumberger.

In a recent conference presentation Blades was joined by SPECTRO’s Technical Director Prof. Dr. Heinz Falk and Marketing Director Manfred Bergsch. Blades commented that the management team was looking forward to maintaining the company’s traditional role of technical leadership through the innovation and that several new products would be entering commercialisation in 1998 starting with the new XEPOS XRF. Commensurate with this philosophy Blades expressed confidence in being able to increase R&D spending whilst at the same time maintaining momentum of SPECTRO’s bottom line growth.
